I got Covid for the first time last May. I was extremely fatigued with no other bad symptoms. 3 weeks after I became paralysed from the neck down and spent 7 and a half weeks in hospital recovering. I was diagnosed with rhabdo myositis, my urine was the colour of cola and I had huge muscle damage and some muscle death. The hospital stay included 5 days in icu due to my breathing muscles being also compromised and the very real risk of me being intubated. I have not recovered fully, my mobility is affected, I haven’t worked in a year and my job will be closed in the next few weeks. I have had various issues since being done agonised with long COVID the most recent being vasculitis. Just looking out the me for anyone who’s had similar experiences.

Sounds familiar. Whilst I didn't go to hospital because I like life, I have also been left with muscle loss and severe vascular issues like collapsing arteries. Working in any field for me would be impossible.
How are you dealing with everything?
I'm finding it beyond difficult having no support. I do have my sister helping now and then. She helped me find somewhere to live which I didn't expect and which I can't thank her enough for.
Surgeons say they won't do anything to help me because there's no point. If they transplanted an aorta I'd only have 5 years max. 5 years sounds good about now.
I'm not on Facebook or any of that to find support.
Thought I'd try this.
I'd love to chat and hear about you and your experiences.
