Dear all,
It would be useful to share our experiences with treatments and the medical system.
Maybe we could have separate categories - say:
· What worked for me
· Experience with the medical system
o GPs
o Long Covid centres
o Any other providers
Based on our experiences we could list possible treatments that could be discussed with our GPs.
We could share names of the providers that we found helpful.
As there are no proven treatments (large scale double blind placebo trials) I think it is important not to be judgemental no matter how crazy some of the statements might be.
My attitude is to be proactive. I am reading medical papers and while there are no proven treatments, at the same time there are many promising treatments. I don’t have 5 years to waste while the research into possible treatments is going on. I decided to experiment on myself provided that I judge that the experiments are reasonably safe and accessible.
If there is some support for this approach I will share my experience so far and my plans for further treatment.
Alan
Dear all,
I have been taking anti platelet medication now for over two weeks and it brought a definite improvement. I take it based on an assumption that people with long covid have micro clots that prevent the usual oxygen supply to various parts of their bodies.
Generic name is Clopidogrel while brand names are Plavix and Plidogrel
If you find this or any other treatment useful, please let us know.
Regards
Alan
Hi Alan,
I hope that you're doing well today. Sorry for the delay in responding to your comment.
Thankyou for the suggestion! Just to clarify, you're thinking that it would be a good idea to have separate categories (in relation to treatments and experience with the medical system) within the 'I have Long COVID category?'
Thanks Alan!
Warmest,
